Das neuplatonische Weltbild

Das Weltbild des Neuplatonismus beruht auf einer hierarchischen Ordnung der Wirklichkeit. An der Spitze steht das Eine als höchstes und vollkommenes Prinzip, aus dem der göttliche Geist (Nous), die Weltseele und schließlich die materielle Welt hervorgehen. Alle Ebenen dieser Ordnung sind miteinander verbunden und bilden einen lebendigen Kosmos. Die Gestirne nehmen innerhalb dieser Hierarchie eine besondere Stellung ein, da sie als sichtbare Manifestationen der göttlichen Ordnung gelten. Ihre Bewegungen sind Ausdruck der Harmonie des Universums und spiegeln die Gesetzmäßigkeiten wider, nach denen sich alle Dinge entfalten.
